The millenary civilization of the Nebrodi peasants and shepherds still influences a lot of handicraft products: rush or reed baskets, cane stools (ferlizi), twisted reeds used to dry in the sun tomatoes, figs and other foodstuffs, handmade embroidery for tablecloths and sheets, knitting of covers and carpets with ancient looms.
