War memorial
This monument was built in 1920 to remember people who died during the First World War and it was the second War Memorial to be built in Italy. On the white marble steps at the base of this monument there’s the statue of a woman representing the “Victory” and holding in her right hand an olive branch and in her left one a shield with the inscription of “Longi”.
On the sides of the statue there’s the inscription “Il comitato, la cittadinanza e il duca D’Ossada nell’anno di grazia 1920” (the committee, the citizenship and the duke D’Ossada in the year of grace 1920) which is followed by the names of the people died during the First and the Second World Wars; the author was the sculptor Messina.

"Questi nomi dei nostri eroi scolpiti nel bronzo dalla gratitudine cittadina, mandino ai posteri la memoria, l'esempio di sacrificio sublime. Restino questi nomi dei nostri eroi nel cuore dei superstiti e dei nipoti a perenne ricordo - religione - ammonimento. Ascoltate la voce dei nostri eroi, fratelli, amatevi come noi vi amiamo, amate la patria di un amore grande come il vostro amore. Per amor di patria dettero la vita. Il nostro amore e la nostra riconoscenza vadano oltre la morte."
