Rifugio del Sole
This is an ancient stone house which was built more than a century ago. It overlooks all the valley of the torrent Rosmarino. It housed many generations of peasants and was abandoned afterwards. It is destined to become the house of the sun and to give new light to the whole valley. With the comfortable atmosphere of the hill and of the striking landscape it stirs up emotions to people who know hot to enhance the beauty of nature. On the left there’s the beauty of “monte Crasto” which was a Saracen fortress and that today is the ideal shelter of the golden eagle that often makes its nest there. At the end of the valley there’s “monte Rizzi” (the speaking rock). As you climb the mountains you will get to the foot of “pizzo S. Nicola” where there’s the water of seven fountains once fundamental for the life of grazing animals.
